The Cornerstone
Aptibull Terriers was founded with a vision of breeding American Pit Bull Terriers that embody exceptional aptitude and ability. This vision draws inspiration from an unforgettable dog: URO1 UWP CA PTN GRCH Lore's CA Cowgirl of PK, "Sunny." Bred by Lore Terriers in California, Sunny left us in March 2024 at 12 years old due to lymphoma. She is missed and remains the epitome of the breed for me.
Sunny oozed a zest for life, a love for children, and prey drive that demanded work. Sunny was balanced, often complimented on her movement in the conformation ring where she won several group placements, RBIS, and BIS. She reached #4 APBT in the UKC in 2014.
At a Structure in Action Seminar, Pat Hastings evaluated her and exclaimed, “There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do with her!”
Quirky, stubborn, and intelligent, she set a standard I dream of replicating.
Sunny was in good health with PennHip scores .29/.32, full dentition, normal Elbows/Patellas, but broke our hearts when she was found to have SAS by echocardiogram despite having previously been cleared by practitioner. This led me to cancel breeding plans for her. A decision I both stand by and reflect on with bittersweet regret.
Though Sunny's DNA is not woven into our kennel, her unparalleled qualities guide Aptibull’s
pursuit of healthy, capable APBTs that honor her legacy.

About Elizabeth
I have lived with various pit bulls since I was 7. Some were just street dogs, but I always had fantastic interactions with them. They have just been good ol' dogs to me for as long as I can remember. I was shocked to step into the world as an adult and find out just how hated they are by far too many people.
I spent a lot of time connecting and chatting in various Pit Bull forums. This led me to Lore Terriers where I purchased my first show bred American Pit Bull Terrier, Sunny - a cute, moderate thing. I was fortunate to have a caring, sincere mentor in Lori. Without her and her bred by, I would not have had the courage to keep going.
In 2016 I married my love: Mr. Ryan Moore, a non-dog person, who did not hesitate to jump into the dog show world with me. In 2021, we moved across the country to middle Tennessee and picked up a couple of dual registered APBT/AST. I love and appreciate the versatility in the breed. I will always believe in the necessity for multiple styles/interpretations of the standard in order to keep our breed vibrant. I disagree with those who believe the breed should be split into AST & APBT or any other variations. It would not benefit the breed, in my opinion.
I am of the opinion that the American Pit Bull Terrier and the American Staffordshire Terrier are interchangeable.
